University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, U.S.AFall 2018, Winter 2019

Advisor: Prof. S. Sandeep PradhanMasters Directed Study

Area: Finite length coding, Distributed Source Coding, Information Theory

Project: Characterization of the block length of the finite length codes used in a communication-cooperation setting.

The goal was to characterize the block length N of the codes for which the outputs of two N-letter to 1-letter Boolean encoders have maximum correlation and minimum bias.

Independent ProjectJune 2021 - Present

Collaborator: Dr. Gowtham R. Kurri

Area: Information Bottleneck Method, Information Theory, Deep Learning

Project: Generalization of the Information Bottleneck Problem.

The goal is to generalize the Information Bottleneck (IB) problem, first formulated by Dr. Naftali Tisby et al., by introducing a tunable parameter alpha. This is of importance in understanding how Deep Neural Networks work.

Technical University, Braunschweig, GermanyAug 2016 - Dec 2016

Advisor and Supervisor: Dr. rer. nat. Thomas Schneider, Dr.-Ing Stefan PreusslerBachelor Thesis

Area: Optical Communication, Non-linear Optics, FPGA

Project: Design and Implementation of a control circuit for Laser Diode Locking on a Frequency Comb.

The aim of the thesis was to implement a control circuit to stabilize and align Laser Diodes, and to create a tunable Laser source for optical communication.

BITS Pilani, Goa, IndiaJan 2016 - May 2016

Advisor: Dr. Raghurama GunajeProject

Area: Visible Light Communication, Light Fidelity

Project: Design and Implementation of a low cost wireless data transfer system using Light Fidelity (Li-Fi).

The goal of this project was to explore Light Fidelity (Li-Fi) as a complementary technology to Radio Frequency Communications.

Project: Aggregate network throughput in a network of Full Duplex 5G mmWave IABs.

Keywords: Full Duplex Communication, 5G, mm-wave Integrated Access Backhaul, Modeling

The goal of this project was to compare the performance of Full Duplex (FD) and Half Duplex (HD) mmWave Integrated Access Backhaul (IAB) nodes in a k-ring urban-canyon type mesh network.

Project: Time Division Duplex (TDD) synchronization algorithm for 5G Repeaters.

Keywords: Time Division Duplex synchronization, Successive Cancellation List Polar Decoder, 5G, mm-wave, Repeaters

The goal of this project was to design an algorithm to enable the end user (User Equipment (UE)) to achieve time and frequency synchronization with the 5G cellular base station, and access the radio network services.

Project: Temperature compensation and distortion cancellation algorithms for the Self Interference Cancellation module.

Keywords: Modeling, Regression

The goal of this project was to design and implement a temperature compensation algorithm for the calibration of the Self Interference Cancellation (SLIC) module by obtaining a functional fit using regression analysis.

Project: Channel estimation and prediction algorithms for beam-forming phased array antennas.

Keywords: Phased Array Antenna

The goal of this project was to characterize the performance of a beam-forming phase array antenna and to develop a first order and third order channel estimation prediction algorithm as a function of the beam angle.
